To Live in the country was always my dream,

having lived in the town and heard people scream,

and heard the dogs bark and heard the cars roar,

the noise from the city would make my head sore.

The bustle of people the sweat in the air,

the tension from others who just didn't care,

the anger and violence just made me feel sick,

so I had to get out and it had to be quick.

I found a small cottage so far from the crowds,

and quickly moved in with my head in the clouds,

with cattle as neighbours with the sheep in the fields,

I begin to relax as my head slowly heals.

Now I look out of the window and see rabbits play,

and hear the birds sing at the end of the day,

but as the night comes so do spiders and mice,

the cattle start farting and the sheep scratch their lice.

I soon close the windows to keep out the bugs,

yet still they get in, hiding deep in the rugs,

I pick up a beetle and place it outside,

where it scurries away, seeking somewhere to hide.

But these things don't hurt me, they're nature at play,

there's no violence within as they go on their way,

at the end of the day I thank God up above,

for my life in the country and the girl that I love.

To live in the country isn't everyone's dream,

they live in the town and hear people scream.
